Carpenter Avenue:
A Special Place to Learn and Grow
Founded in 1924, Carpenter Avenue Elementary School is Studio City's
neighborhood school (K-5th grade), with a population of nearly 800
students. Nestled on the Valley side of the Hollywood Hills, Carpenter
has become an outstanding community school, with a strong collaboration
between school administration, faculty, our parent groups, and our
community partners.
In the 1990s, we received the designation of a California Distinguished
School. Each year, we strive to offer a superior learning environment
for all of our students, based on strong academics, a variety of
enrichment programs, and an education experience that meets the needs
of all children.
We
are a high-performing school with a 2009 Academic Performance Index of
912, the highest API score in District 2. This is a 10 point gain over our 2008 score.

We have an energetic and
enthusiastic staff that is well-focused on student achievement. Our
students and staff are fortunate that Carpenter has incredibly strong
parent and community involvement.
