Home-to-School Communication Procedures
One of the goals of the LEARN Council, and indeed all the parent/school organizations, is to improve home-to-school and school-to-home communication. We always welcome your input. The guidelines below will assist you in voicing your concerns through the appropriate channels in order to achieve positive results.
If you have a concern about your child's classroom experience:
Please discuss it first with your child's teacher. Usually, any problem can be solved by open discussion between you and the teacher. The principal cannot discuss any classroom concern until that discussion has taken place first.If you have met with your child's teacher and feel you need further clarification, then you may call the school office to schedule an appointment with the Principal.
If you have a concern about a school issue not centered around the classroom and would like to have the LEARN Council address it:
You may jot down your concern on a piece of paper and leave it in the LEARN suggestion box located in the School Office. LEARN representatives collect these suggestions and schedule them for discussion either by the Council-at-large or by the appropriate LEARN subcommittee. We will inform you of how and when the concern will be addressed.You may write a letter to any member of the LEARN Council. The member is then responsible for communicating your concern to the appropriate individual or committee for discussion and/or action. Again, you will be notified of how and when your concern will be addressed. This method allow the LEARN Council to work in an efficient manner to insure your concerns will be addressed in the appropriate way.
